Hello Germany

Hallo und willkommen zum vorerst letzten Rundschreiben von meiner Seite.
Erst mal zur Klärung: Ich bin in Deutschland (für alle die es noch nicht gehört oder gesehen haben). Wie bin ich von Ban Ban Springs in Australien nach Kastellaun in Deutschland gekommen? Ganz einfach: Mit zwei Bussen, einem Taxi und zwei Fliegern.

Hello and welcome to the last info mail from my side.
I should explain this: I am back in Germany! How did I get from Ban Ban Springs in Australia to Kastellaun in Germany? That’s an easy one: Two busses, one taxi and two airplanes.

Ich bin nach Australien gegangen für eine bestimmte Erfahrung: Ich wollte mal herausfinden, wie es ist wenn man auf einem Absoluten Minimum existiert. Wenn man wirklich einen Job finden muss, damit man seine Unterkunft und Essen finanzieren kann und sich echt auf den Hosenboden setzen muss um eine Arbeit zu finden. Diese Erfahrung hatte ich. Was jetzt noch gekommen wäre, wäre 4 Wochen Arbeiten, Geld verdienen und Party. Außerdem habe ich festgestellt, dass ich nicht unbedingt mich mit dem Leben und den Prioritäten eines „Backpackers“ anfreunden kann. Für mich strebe ich eher einen gehobeneren und gesetzteren Lebensstil an.

Von daher hatte ich die Erfahrung die ich dachte erst in drei Monaten zu haben, schon in zwei Monaten und sonst hat mich nichts in diesem Land gehalten.

I went to Australia for a specific experience: I wanted to find out how it feels to live on an absolute minimum. When you have to have a job in order to pay for your accommodation and food and when you really have to kick your own rear end to find work. I had this experience. Now there would have been only four weeks of work, earning money and party. I also found out that the lifestyle and priorities of a backpacker are not even close to mine. I rather prefer a higher and more settled life standard.

So I achieved my goal to have the experience I was looking for one month earlier than I expected.

Also ging es von Bundaberg nach Tweed Heads, wo ich nochmal den Chefpiloten von Careflight getroffen habe und er mit erklärte wie diese Australische Luftrettungsgesellschaft funktioniert. Das war ein sehr interessantes Treffen und ich habe nochmal etwas für meine Zukunft lernen können.

So I went from Bundaberg to Tweed Heads. Here I met the chief pilot of Careflight who explained to me how this Australian Air Ambulance Company works. This was a highly interesting meeting and I was able to learn a view new things for my future.

Von da ging es nach Sydney und habe mir noch ein Weihnachtskonzert angeguckt in der Konzerthalle des Sydney Opera Hauses (wegen spar Maßnahmen mussten wir 4 Lieder Selber singen). Es war aber ein klasse Erlebnis!

Then I went to Sydney where I saw a Christmas concert in the concert hall of the Sydney Opera House. Because of the international financial crises we had to sing four songs ourselves. It was an amazing experience!

Sydney in der Vorweihnachtszeit ist nicht unbedingt etwas besonderes, da würde ich New York auf jeden Fall eher Empfehlen.

Von da aus ging es dann nach Shanghai, wo ich gefroren habe und mit dem Transrapid 420 km/h schnell durch die Gegend gedüst bin und jetzt bin ich endlich wieder auf dem Hunsrück und freue mich euch alle wieder zu treffen!

Sydney is nothing special in advent time. Still I would recommend to go to New York City.
Now I went to Shanghai to drive with the Transraid with about 260 mph (420 km/h). And right now I am back in my hometown enjoying the snow and cold.

Noch ein schönes neues Jahr und vergesst den tieferen Sinn von Weihnachten ja nicht. Schließlich soll das ja ein ganzes Jahr leben!

It is a little late but I wish you all a happy new year and do not forget the real spirit of Christmas. The real spirit should be around us all year long!
